About Etsy

Etsy functions as a US-based online marketplace specializing in artisanal or nostalgic products and artisanal materials. These goods span various sectors, such as accessories, handbags, apparel, household furnishings and fittings, playthings, artworks, and artisanal materials and implements.

Etsy's worldwide marketplace fosters an animated society of authentic individuals bonding over distinctive merchandise. The platform enables vendors to pursue their passions while aiding shoppers in discovering theirs.

From the precise to the unforeseen (or personalized), Etsy's exploration aids allow shoppers to delve into the myriad unique offerings provided by Etsy vendors.

What are the meanings of the delivery statuses?

The delivery statuses displayed on your Purchases page inform you of the current stage of your order's delivery process. If the status reads "Not Dispatched," it means the seller hasn't fulfilled the order or updated it on Etsy.
Once the seller has fulfilled the order and is prepared to dispatch it, you will receive an email notification from Etsy regarding the dispatch. Your order on the Purchases page can have one of the following statuses:

The different delivery statuses:

  • Dispatched: This indicates that the seller has finalized your order on Etsy and it's en route.
  • Pre-transit: The seller has included a tracking number, awaiting scanning at the shipping facility.
  • In Transit: Your order has been sent by the seller and is now on its way to you.
  • Delivered: The package has been received, allowing you to leave a review for your purchase.

You can also find shipping information in the shipping notification emails regarding your order. Click on Track Package in the email notification to check the status of your delivery.

How to track a package?

If the merchant utilized a shipping service directly affiliated with Etsy and has included a tracking number, you'll encounter a "Track Package" button adjacent to the order on your Purchases page. Click on "Track Package" to access comprehensive details regarding the status of your package.

Additionally, you can review shipping particulars within the dispatch notification emails pertaining to your order. Opt for "Track Package" within the email notification to monitor the progress of your shipment.

In cases where the merchant opted for a shipping service not endorsed by Etsy but has furnished a tracking number for the order, you can locate it by selecting "View Receipt" next to the order on your Purchases page.

Certain international or transnational packages might not display tracking information once they depart from the originating country. However, the tracking status should refresh upon the package's arrival in the destination country.

What should you do if your order fails to arrive?

If your order doesn’t arrive and your order qualifies, you’ll receive a full refund as part of Etsy’s Purchase Protection programme.
We recommend that you try to locate the package before you start the refund process:

  • See if someone else in your household or office accepted the package.
  • If the item you purchased isn’t time-sensitive, try waiting a day.
  • Sometimes the carrier needs some extra time to deliver the package. Contact your local post office or delivery centre to see if the package is there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some shipping methods do not offer tracking details. You may want to reach out to the store from which you made your purchase to inquire about the availability of tracking information for your order.

They can remain in Pre-Transit from the moment the shipping label is first generated until the seller physically hands the package to the shipper and the shipper scans it into the tracking system.
Certain sellers generate shipping labels several days before the product is prepared for shipping.
Occasionally, the shipper neglects to scan the package into their system. On one or two occasions, my mail carrier collected a package that wasn't scanned initially. I couldn't track it until it was scanned at one of the stops along its route to the destination.

The projected delivery date is the anticipated arrival time for your order. Typically, this date is calculated considering the processing time required for your items (the duration it takes for the seller to make and get them ready for shipping), the transit duration (how long the package usually travels with the shipping company), and the current date.

If your order shows as Delivered but you haven’t received the item, there are several steps you can take.
  • Inquire with neighbors to check if the package was mistakenly delivered to them.
  • Contact your nearest post office to help trace the package. Provide them with the tracking number, shipping service name, and your shipping address. Some of these details might need to be obtained from the seller.
  • Request the seller's assistance in initiating a claim with the shipping service.

Estimated delivery dates are not provided for every order. They are determined by the seller based on the delivery settings they have chosen.

Feel secure shopping with Etsy’s Purchase Protection program. If your order qualifies, you are eligible for a full refund if the item received doesn’t match its description, arrives damaged, or does not arrive at all.
